On Holiday

Hey ya! I'M BACK! But it looks like i haven't told LOVE about the trip. I thought i did?!

Anyway, lemme let you in on my story. Here goes.

31st May 2007, Thursday to 1st June 2007, Friday

We met at the temple in the evening, had dinner, and got ready to set off, at around 7pm. Oh yeah. My elderbro and I got three pairs of Shrek ears from McDonald's. So we drove to Woodlands, got past the Customs, and stopped twice to meet up with other people of the group.

And we started on the wonderfully long journey to Tasik Kenyir, Terengganu. Halfway through an uncle L from another car swopped places with my lttlebrother cause he said he wasn't very comfortable in the other car. According to him we were on a road which directly leads us to Kenyir. It is a very curvy journey with all the winding roads. And it is supposed to be a ten-hour journey. But the roads started to get straighter and i soon fell asleep. There were frequent coffee breaks in between. And we finally reached Terengganu, and finally reached Kenyir, and finally the resort. It was around 6am by then. And i discovered another uncle AH was in the driver's seat.

Our resort is this Musang Resort. It's a floating resort built on a strong foundation of huge logs. Cool place, although it's a bit warm over there (partly due to the fact that there are forests all around the place). Hahaha. We got to our room. There were two double-deckers, and one of them had a Queen size bed on the bottom. I was forced to sleep on the single bottom bunk due to some superstition of my mama. Hahaha. NEVERMIND. I ended up sleeping till noon, and woke up to have lunch, cooked by the hosts there. Nice home-cooked food.

Then at 1pm we took a speedboat to a mini waterfall. (We had to take turns cause there were abput 20 people in the whole group.) We walked in the creek, but were told to turn back cause we were going to the BIG waterfall. Alamak i had not even seen the waterfall. We reached it by a larger boat which could accomodate about 25 people. Walked up the track, and climed up the rocks to see the waterfall. Wow it was damn GORGEOUS man. Really. Spectacular. A lot of photos taken, and we walked back down to the lower parts of the waterfall. And we swam i there. My littlebro and elderbro and i in just went into the water with our clothes on. The water was cool and refreshing. We went for free uPapa treatment. Hahaha. After the swim we made our way back to the resort. Bathed, and i slept again.

And again, I woke up only for dinner. Played mahjong and went to sleep again. Hahaha.

2 June 2007, Saturday

I forgot what time i awoke. Quite late, i guess. I played with the monkeys(Kok Meng, Ah Bee and Li Na). The former two are chained up to a play space, while Li Na is in a cage. I got scratched by Li Na as she pinched me and smelt her hands after pinching me.

Today there was supposed to be a new group coming, but apparently they didn't.
Then, lunchtime. After that we set off for the Clear Water River at 2pm. The water was so clear that you could see the bottom. Literally. We first walked up, against the current of the river, from where the boat dropped us. Together, hand in hand, we trudged through all difficulties, against the strong current of the oceans, to where we found our peace. HAHAHAHA. Okay. My elderbro talked about geoghraphy shit along the way, about the deposition of rocks and blah blah blah. The water further upstream was even cleaner(and cooler). We sat down in between to enjoy the Natural uPapa. And my papa and some other uncles found the footprints of a tiger and an elephant. WOO... Nature is dangerous, only when you go against it. MUHAHAHAHA...
Then we walked downstream, and had a little swim there. The water there was a lil' dirty, and i found a small log from the riverbed. Then we made our way back again.

Bath. Dinner. Sleep.

3 June 2007, Sunday

Ah... Beautiful sleep. Woke up early to day for a walk. We walked to this bridge and my lilbro and i started throwing and kicking stones into the water below. Hahaha.
We were supposed to go back to the BIG waterfall today. Ok, so after lunch, we set off. The Malay man (one of the hosts) took us on a boat ride. Sightseeing, although there was nothing much to see except for trees, trees, and more trees.

Something exciting happened. We were in an area where there were a lot of tree stumps jutting out of the water(a trademark of Kenyir), and we were moving along a relatively clear space, when the boat knocked onto something on its rioght side. It was a tree stump that barely rose above the water. The whole boat almost toppled over. Woah. And we weren't even wearing the lifejackets cause they were so damaged, with zips missing and all. Fortunately nothing happed. =) In the end we ended up touring the waters for how-many-hours-I-don't-know, and we stopped by the Rock River, where the water tumbles down hundreds of huge rocks. Wonderful sight, but it was too dangerous for the young and the women to get down. I am the YOUNG, fyi.

Then it started to drizzle and we made our way back to the resort.

Bath. My mama and some other adults drove out to the port to make calls and my mama got some Kenyir Tees.
Dinner. Watched a retarded show called "A Chinese Tall Story". Sleep.

4 June 2007, Monday

Oh. Last morning here. After breakfast and saying farewell to Kok Meng, we set off for the journey home. Another uncle HA came in to drive, while my mama went to another car. Slept and played afool with my brothers. We discovered that Malaysia's tidbits are much plainer in flavour compared to Singapore's. Stopped for lunch, and we tookaway from MCD. Had a dispute with my mama. Grrr....

Lilbro was 'transferred' to the car where my mama was, and Uncle L came over. For the rest of the day i didn't sleep. Then the different cars got detached from one another and we were all at different points of the route. Finally we reached the customs. There was this figure standing there motionlessly between our lane and the lane on our left. He was so eerie, but I later found out that he was a beggar. Finally, home sweet home. As Sao Feng puts it, "Welcome To Singapore". FYI, Sao Feng is my friend since preschool.

Dropped by the temple and we went home. WOO LA LA~

Came back home at 12am and found my phone with new messages from someone who didn't know i was overseas. Hahaha.

Looks like it's back to rotting at home again. AHA!
