Chimpanzee

YAY! Trip to the zoo! Yesterday night I had packed my backpack eagerly in anticipation for the outting. The last time i was there was like five years ago. But today i went with a mission- to see the polar bears.(refer to previous post for more infomation. =>)

Early this morning at around 9 or 10am, we arrived at the SIngapore Zoological Gardens. There was a tiny scuffle between my mama and I about ticketing- she mentioned somthing about getting tired and wanted to get the tickets with free unlimited tram rides while I insisted that they are useless. But of course she got her way. She's paying!

So we began our journey. We saw orang utans, chimpanzees, baboons, mandrills, pelicans, mousedeer, otters, goats, pigs, lions, white tigers(they rockl!), giraffes, sun bear, smelly rhinoes and of course, the POLAR BEARS! We caught three sessions of token feeding, that of the otters, the polar bears(Sheba waves to the audience) and the leopard. The leopard was like leaping and gnawing on the piece of meat(i think it was a goat's leg) lowered down to him by the zookeepers. The zookeepers then went away and the leopard clung on to his food with his teeth, his body hanging vertically like a puppet. I was standing right in front of the glass panel and i got it all down in video. One damn kid kept pushing in, making irritating noises and complaining to his daddy that he couldn't see. Bloody sucker. Hey kid, you can't always get things your own way or you'll end up being spolied. Yay! I love to bully young kids.

My brother and I went for a elephant ride. It was a scam! A SCAM! A SCAM! We queued up for so long just to get two minutes' ride on the elephant. The Thailand one was ten thousand times better! A SCAM through and through!

Thereafter we queued up for the tram ride. A zookeeper/ranger called out to those who intended to take a one-round trip around the zoo to take them to another waiting point. After much confusion some visitors left with her. Then a Caucasian couple followed suit. We were second in the queue and there were benches to sit on. Suddenly, I saw the Caucasian guy, who was in his fourties and a little pudgy, wobbling in front of me. They were trying to get out of the queue via us. And suddenly he fell on me. He was sitting on me, who was sitting on the bench. He struggled to get up but couldn't. I was so flabberghasted and embarrased, and i think he was too. Finally he got up and apologised. I barely managed to give him a feeble smile. Oh my god.

My mom got tired halfway, so she went to wait for us at the entrance. My younger brother and I then continued to explore the whole zoo. At the Fragile Forest, one Asian girl was yelling, with an American accent, "I thought the signs say no FEEDING!" She was obviously referring to a Caucasian woman, who was feeding bread to the Crowned pheasants. Woah. Great guts.

We proceeded to Animal Land to see goats, sheep and pigs. We went off and visited a skinny camel. There was a funny signboard regarding the camel's state of health too.

I told my brother we were going to see all the animals. And we did. We ONLY missed out the Maned Wolf.
I am so proud of myself. ~_~

In the end, my mama got two rides on the tram while my brother and I got one each. What a wonderful day. All was perfect- the weather, the time, the people(well, the zip of my bag broke but i fixed it)- except the prices of the food. Haha.

Oh... have to work tomorrow. Again.
