Mati

Work is boring. Boring. Boring. Boring. Boring. Boring. Boring. Boring. Boring. Boring.

No i didn't use copy and paste. Haha.

Fast-forward >>>
Took the bus home. And guess what. Saw ex-schoolmates/classmates. Two, actually. They got on the bus at one of the Sengkang stops. Damn. One of them was actually shouting out to me. I was just like, shocked, and i had a S-H-OC-K-E-D expression on my face. What else. Haha. From their uniform i figured they worked at Courts. Megastore, i guess. So they stood at the exit while i just tried to recover from the shock.

The bus was reaching my stop, and they haven't gotten off the bus. Which meant that I would have to walk past them and say 'bye' to get off the bus. LUCKILY they got off at the same stop, and didn't look back for me. Phew. My god. Haha.

These two girls aren't exactly the best-of-friends in school. They were in different classes anyway, for the past two years. And somehow they got together. Really close. I guess its out of desperation. They just need some kinda companion to survive through the first few months in poly. Yeah. Loneliness is a horrible thing. For them.

So i got home and got a Ramly burger at the pasar malam.

Soon. Lost count. But it's getting close.

Lethargy

Ahh... Same boring day.

I went to work at 1pm today. Clocked in and left my stuff in the storeroom. The moment i stepped out Shi Yng asked me if i wanted to go to the bank. Good lah, so they purposely waited for me to come so that they won't have to go to the bank. Initially i said no, but later agreed cause i can't resist the temptation to get out of to shop, away from them all.

Damn there was a superb long queue at the bank. It stretched all the way out from the red 'tapes' provided for the people to queue. But service was quite fast.

After doing the bank stuff i went to slack. Bought stuff to drink and walked around a while to finish my drink. I was on the second floor of TM, passing by the chocolate shop. I was looking at the chocolates, When out of the corner of my eye i could sense someone looking at me. Familiar silhouette. I thought i saw a golden bob. I turned around and... SHUCKS. Ex-schoolmate. Shocking. So i scooted off again.

Drew stuff and listened to their chatter and read my ultra-thick storybook. Boring.

Things weren't as bad today.

Driver came, and finally handed us a new set of keys. None of my business. I don't open shop.

Sigh. I received a letter from TP yesterday. There was still one outstanding document- Parent's Consent Form. Gotta make a trip to TP again. Lazy.

Just another 15 days to go. =)

I'm Not Afraid

Everything's eating me.
I can't get along with
Anyone
No one.

But i'm not like you.
I'm not afraid of loneliness.
I feel more at ease
When i'm all alone.
I love shopping alone
Eating alone
Waiting alone
Waiting for someone
Something that won't come
That doesn't even exists.

'Cause I
I'm a solo ranger
A loner
And i'm better off left alone
I don't need nobody's help.
So don't try to get into me
And let me dwell
In my dark and murky world.

My world
It's all black and white.
There're no colours.
Everything's this or that.
I don't feel colours.
Black and white.

So i guess
I'll tread carefully
And take
One step at a time
See how it goes.

Unjustified

I have so many things
To say.
And yet
I don't know
Where to start.

Why are you
Always teasing me?
Playing and foolin' around
With me?

Was i
Too friendly before
To make you believe
That i'm an easygoing person?

It wasn't as if
I don't have a temper.
Didn't you realise that?
No, you didn't.
Do you know
That you aren't that great?

I feel so unjustfied.
I thank you
For leaving all the menial work
For me.
Leaving yourself
Credited to things
You've never done.

Is it fair?
Is it fair this way?
Is this a reflection
Of the society?

I thought our relationship
Would be as great as ever.
But it turns out
it wasn't such so.

Was i too naive
To believe it would work out?
Was it all fake?
All of a show?

Don't make me so.
But i can't stop it anymore.
So forgive me.
I hate you.

Kilter

Back to work. Back to more suffering.

Arrived for work. 12.30pm. Siew Foon was there.

Joked around and read magazines. Siew Foon wanted to buy magazines and asked me which ones have those kinda penpal stuff. I said Teens and Teenage, but i recommended the latter. In the end she came back with Teens, and was disappointed that it was all English and there weren't any pics og handsome guys. So in the end i gave her English lessons using the magazine.

I went out to get magazines too. 8 Days and Teenage.

A Sarawak woman came in to interview today. SF asked me to explain some stuff in the application form to her cause she didn't complete it. Now they have a basic salary of $950. I only have $900! Damn. I gonna blast the company on my blog! Stay tuned-- 14 April 2007. Cheers.

Shi Yng came in at 4pm, but she was early for 45 minutes. So they went to Fairprice while i was left to attend to the shop. Meanwhile i aot back all my magazines and stuffed them in my bag. I am SELFISH. I don't wish to share. I don't like my magazines crumpled or tattered or torn.

They came back and SF clocked out before leaving. So there were two of us left.

I ended up going for my break at only 4.10pm. I had my meal at Kopitiam, and went to get some more magazines- Seventeen and Teenage(There was something on Avril =>). I did something illegal again. Can't resist the temptation.

I kept silent for the rest of the day. I tried. Maybe i'm just tired. Maybe i don't feel like talking to anyone.

Her antics are getting on my nerves. Like, she always praises herself as cute and pretty and stuff. I know she meant it as a sarcastic kinda joke, but its getting on my nerves. I think she just took a Neoprint recently, and this morning SF let me take a look at it, saying “Shi Yng 给你看的。” So of course i took a look. Later, when she came, she asked me if i had looked at the neoprints. i said yes. Then she told me i didn't ask for her permission. Yeah, she's still joking. But i couldn't take it anymore. Then she asked me for my comments, is it nice or stuff. I said, "Okay lor". SF laughed and said i have no emotions. Shi Yng said,"人家酱cute,你说okay lor" I was at walking away from them all and spewing vulgarities at the shop front. I. Just. Can't. Take. It .Anymore. It just pisses me off!

Not to mention that recently, there was a pair of mother-daughter Malays who came to patronise our shop. The daughter wanted to buy a lot of last pieces, and SY told me to check FOUR stocks. It was her customer. And i was the one who called every SINGLE outlet and asked. The customer bought 100 over dollars and she typed her own name. I wasn't asking her to type mine, cos i couldn't care less, but at least she couuld check stock herself. Serving the customer is tons easier than calling up to check stuff. Argh. The thought of it makes me mad. And she's always behaving as if she's boss. Somehow she always gets away with closing shop. She either goes home early or mop, not vacuum. It's the timetable thing, but i can't contemplate why she gets it her way so easily. Oh well. I can't seem along to get along with anyone nowadays.

Didn't serve much customers today. Not in the damn fucking mood.

Mich was coming at night. So glad. I chatted with her on the phone in the storeroom. She came, and we chatted in the storeroom. She was leaving and i sneaked out, in the pretext of going to the toilet, to settle some stuff together. Why should i care? Why should i be working so hard? No way. No.

Maybe i shall get Shift C next week. So that I can go go home EARLY too. No. Not before the keys come. There's only one set of keys now. So even if its your day off that day, you still have to come back at night to collect the keys to open shop the next day. So, not yet.

After work we went shopping at the supermarket. I bought thirty dollars worth of tidbits. Hahaha. Got my illegal stuff going. Yay. Finally cleared my debt to Mich. We borrow money from each other now and then. WAHAHA.

Enjoyed the later part of the day. So much. We're suited for the high life. HA. HA. HA.

16 days to get out of this hell of a place.

Jiggle

Oh my god. I was lying in bed last night, thinking about the documents i have to mail to Temasek Polytechnic. So i continued thinking. So it led me to the conclusion that I HAVE NOT ACCEPTED MY OFFER online! The deadline was 26 March, 2 days way past yesterday.

Oh my god. I was so freaking my ass out.

I couldn't have imagined why i had left out such an important thing to do. Mind you. It decides my future. My aspiraton to be a fashion designer. Oh gosh. I couldn't describe how i felt. (Maybe Joniece could. She's been there, done that.)

I hurriedly switched on the computer, connected, and typed out the url as given in the TP enrolment guide. The link "Click here to Accpet/Decline offer" was still there. So i thought there was still some hope left. False hope. When i logged in, they said that the offer is "Declined". (I printed it out to serve as a momento.) Oh my goodness. How and why could this happen? I was so flustered and still not recovering from the shock.

So i was left there thinking, thinking that i may choose the singer-songwriter route should this one fail. Yes, I still had the mood to joke, you say. It's either this or that, cause i've no other interests.

Anyway i didn't worry that much. There's always a way out. (It's my quote.) I guess other peeps would have freaked out like hell. But i just wanted to go back to my warm and cosy bed.

I threw a black pen i picked up at the shop front a few days ago out of the window cause i believed it brought me bad luck. Superstitious, huh?

And so i resolved to make a trip to TP the next day. Fight it all out.

So. Back to today.

Woke up at 7.30am. The earliest in recent weeks. Prepared and stuff, and made my way to CP MRT. Took the train to Somerset. I wanted to collect my medical report first. So i went to Orchard Building, took the medical report and made my way back to the train station.

Alighted at Tampines train station, walked a long way to the bus bay for bus service 23 and waited for the driver to get the engines up. Peering through the pock-marked windows(caused by giant advertising posters glued to the them), I could figure out where the TP campus was, with the help of the signboards and following poly students-lookalikes(laptop cases lah).

I went inside and jaywalked, albeit there were signs preaching stuff about road safety. I was supposed to go to Blk 9. Somehow i got lost and wasn't sure which was which. But i was getting vlose. So i went to ask the security guard uncle.
Me: May i know where's Block 9?
Guard: Oh, This is Block 9. (Pointing to the ground.) Where are you going?
I referred him to the address stated on the brown envelope.
Guard: Blah blah blah blah blah...(mostly directions)

So i took the lift to the second floor. I got out of the lift lobby,
acted like i was a student and glanced around.(Wow, there's a POSB ATM machine!) No signs of whatever Admissions building. So i went into the lift lobby(which led to the Visitors' Centre) and went into the VC. The clerk told me that the Admissions Office is just across the block. So i gathered up my guts (?) and went into the office. Not much people. I took a queue number(which i still have it with me) and waited. Not surprisingly my number was called next.

Me: I was offered a place in a course here and supposed to accept it online...(Actually i was stumbling through; the clerk helped me to phrase it out. =0)
Clerk: So did you do it?
Me: No.
Clerk: How could you forget such a important thing? Did you forget it?
Me: Yeah, it just slipped my mind...
Clerk: But you can't already. The submision period is over. All the spaces are filled up.
Me: That's why...
The clerk was getting up, and the other clerks sort of heard our conversation. 'S-H-O-C-K' was written on their faces. Haha. What a scene.
Clerk: (Handed me a piece of plain white paper) So you write a letter, explaining why you didn't accpet the offer online. You write it outside, on the table. Then you can just pass it to any one of us here. We'll hand it to the officer and see if you will be allowed to enrol...
Me: Okay
Clerk: Most likely it's gone. You just go and write this letter and we'll give it to the officer in charge of the submissions.

So i went out and started to write. Michelle happened to call, and with the combination of my literacy talent and Michelle's timely help, I conjured up a piece of wonderful, persuasive and tugs-at-the-heart-strings masterpiece. Woo-hoo.

I handed it back to the clerk. She told me to wait. Now it's either this or that. Let fate decide. Oh my god. It was nerve-wrecking. But i didn't think anything would go wrong.

Time for the big reveal. The clerk asked me to log on five to ten minutes later to submit my application. I was too thrilled for words. I just huh-ed. Woo hoo! HAHAHA. I knew things would work out.

While waiting i sent out Valentine's SMSes(ie. smses with "I Love You") to some people. What a relief.

Five minutes later i went in and logged on. Did all the submit info atuff and printed out the confirmation page. Twice. Free what. Just to keep a spare copy. Just. In. Case. Touch wood.

Then i went to settle the documents, went in to borrow a pencil, and went to sort out all the stuff again before dropping the envelope into the bin. Done. All done, in a morning's work.

Up next, I went back to the bus interchange by bus.

Actually i had a whole lot of tuff to do today, but the admissions stuff thwarted my plan. Never mind...

Was supposed to repair the mp3 player today, but since i didn't bring the receipt and the headquarters was at Jurong East, I didn't make the trip. I went to Simei instead. Bought the Meters Bonwe jacket i've been pinning about for ages. There're three colours for this design. There's one which is yellow with blue stripes. Nice. I love it. But i don't wanna look like a character from Dragonball, so i opted for my original choice instead: Black+orange stripes. Boring, but more feasible.

Then i went to HF to get my magazines from Page One. And dammit. They were closed for stock-take! How unfortunate! On this day? And i discovered the Esprit tee i bought at TM for $23.90 was sold at $19.90 here. Argh! I don't balme them, though. It's called marketing. By the way, the staff at TM told me you get their membership with purchase of $150 and above. Lesser than Dano, man. And Dano's not even designer garb. (TIP: Go to This Fashion before you start to buy stuff from Dano.)

So i went back to Somerset. To HMV. And YAY! I finally got the original version of 'Under My Skin'. For just one more song, i spent $18.95. Hahaha. Saw the Arena magazine. So the issue with Avril on it is the April issue. I thought it was March's, cause the April one is on Hideoshi. Then i came to realise that's Arena Men. Hmm... then i won't need to rush to get it. Yay!. So Far So Good.

I met up with Michelle and Amanda at the Somerset station. They bought shades from Robinsons. Amanda was so jap. Haha. Michelle was spotted by a person to do an ad for Starhub. But when she said no, the person just snatched the namecard back from her. WAHAHA. What's that? Crazy.

So we took the train to City Hall. Walked a long way to Marina Square. Shopped around. I bought a red belt with a shiny buckle. So RoCk! Hahahaha. They bought earrings. Up next we went to Suntec. Nothing much. Then we had to walk a very very very(read: VERY) long way to the train station. Meanwhile, at the Citylink Mall, we visited the toilet. When i came out, Mich and Am was still in there. After that they came out and told me that Michelle was spotted again. Some face-modelling stuff.

We were approached by two donations personnel today. The first one was a poly student, i forgot for what organisation, and the three of us shared to give $10 in return for a mousepad. The second one was a teenage girl. It was something about helping ex-convicts. Mich gave $2 for a pen. The girl asked Am to give too, and she did. I didn't buckle. I just stood by the side, out of the whole conversation. She didn't ask me either. I guess i looked mean. That's great. "Don't ask me for donations or i'll bash you up."

Then we went to the MRT station. I took the train home. So damn tired. i didn't talk for the rest of the day. Moody lah. I went to Kopitiam to takeaway pork porridge for my lil bro. But guess what. Argh. Saw ex-NCHS pp again. I thought she saw me too. Tough luck.I just fled from the scene.

What a hysterical day. (Hey, gotta link the title to the story mah.)

17 days to the end of my suffering.

Invasion Of the Storeroom

I went shopping at Esprit before work. Intended to buy two pieces for 2 for $39.90. But one piece was apparently $23.90. So i bought a total of three pieces at sixty-plus dollars.

We did spring cleaning today. I moved up all the jackets from the floor to the shelves(I squeezed out a lot of space after packing the storeroom after stock-take). SF started to sweep out stuff under the shelves using a long bulb enclosed in its box. All kinds of treasures turned up. Empty water bottles, shoes with worn-out-soles(including Rohana's shoes), sweets and clumps of dust. Eew gross. i took photos. Haha.

Bought some stuff from Dano. "Again?" You say. Yes. Again. T-shirts.

How many days was it?
Oh. EIGHTEEN.

I don't remember much of today's events except that i slept on the bus home. =)

Wake Up

Why?

Why am I the one
Always the one
Doing all the tough work?

Is it because
I look gullible?
Is it because
I treat you too well?
Is it because
You just don't care
How I feel?

So will you
Please stop
Bullying me?
Cause I
I ain't gonna
Let it go.
Just like that.

Do you understand?
Understand any of these
At all?

I don't think you do
Cause you still can't
Come to your senses.

Do you know
You're not that great?
I wish
That you'll wake up
Someday.
One day.

Leave Me Alone

Don't talk to me.
You know i'll reply.
But I'm only
Pacifying you.

Don't force me
To be who i'm not
Cause I'm not giving in.

I don't wanna talk
Not to anyone
Everyone
No one.

So, just
Leave me alone.

Leave me alone.
Let me retreat
Into my own
Secluded world.
And
Let me find myself.

Stranded

I'm so tired.
I don't have time for my family.
I don't have time for myself.
Time is leaving me behind.
Stranded all by myself.

Life is fast-forwarding.
I don't want it so.
Gimme back my time
Cause it belongs to me rightfully.

I don't wanna waste my time.
Don't wanna waste my life.
I'm gonna do something
About it.

No, You're Not.

It's not funny.
Seriously not.

Stop acting like you know everything
When you don't.
Stop behaving like you're the best in the world
When you're not.
Stop acting like you're the most pitiful person on earth
When you aren't.
Stop behaving like you're the most important person
When you're seriously not.

So can you please
Don't behave like somebody else
You're not.

Or pretend that
You're the greatest thing ever
Cause it really pisses me off.

Getaway

Same routine. Took the bus. The driver was damn reckless. I mean, I have been on a few bumpy rides(no pun intended), but this was the worst. It was about the brakes again. First the uncle drives very quickly, then he suddenly slams down on the brakes. It's like the back of the bus was gonna fly up from the impact and turn the whole vehicle upside down. If not, its the continuous brakes-brake, brake and brake- when there's no need to brake so many times.

Then we arrived at a stop at Tampines. An elderly couple was boarding the bus. The grandpa just got on one of the steps, and the bus suddenly lurched forward, followed by an abrupt brake. The old man was staring at the driver for a few seconds. Apparently the driver didn't even look at him or apologise.

Oh my god. This is the limit, I thought. I've had enough.

And the driver didn't seem to notice that there was something wrong with his driving.

I think he must be drunk or something.

When we were about to reach my stop, i stood up and went to the entrance(i was seated on the side seats). On reaching the bus stop, i scanned my card and turned to the bus uncle.
Me: 驾车小心一点,Uncle.
Uncle: Huh?
Me: 驾车闲心一点~。
And i purposely dragged the last word.
I didn't know why i did it.
Maybe it's the built-up hatred after so many occurences of bumpy rides.
Maybe i just couldn't take it lying down.
Someone has to do something.

I forgot what happened for the rest of the day. Guess it was too boring.

Oh i remember. I had fish porridge at Eastlink during break time. Ran errands for the people back in the shop. Got lime juice
from Eastlink for Shi Yng and Ice Kachang+colourful jelly from Sweeetalk for Siew Foon. Poor me. I'm always the one running errands. Stood in the sun and queued like crazy when it's none of my business anyway.

I went back to the shop and what i got was complaints from Shi Yng. She siad she was hungry to death and had to wait for me to come back. I yelled back, saying u had a hard time queuing for their stuff and stormed off to continue on my break. There was some anger in it, i guess. I mean, i'm always talking like that, unpolite and stuff, but most of the time i mean no menance, just jokingly. But i guess i'm really pissed off by them now.

Anyway. i went up to the fourth floor. I bought a tie from 77th Street and signed up for its membership. No discount AH? No use/useless.

Went back to the shop. Shi Yng went for her break in the storeroom. I thought she said she wasn't eating today? Diet and stuff. Later Siew Foon told me SY had told her to takeaway food for her. Well, not my fault, cause nobody told me. Nobody did!

I don't know what's happening to me. Agitation is the word for me, right now.

SF forced me to take pics with her. Said she wanna send it to Epop, the Malaysian version of teenage, to make more friends. I just made faces. Can't bother.

20 days. And counting.

Flurry

As you could intepret from the title, a lot of stuff happened today. But it seems like a lot of things happen to ME everyday. Hahaha.

Ok. So, today i reported at 11am. Shi Yng wasn't there yet, so i sat outside the shop and listened to my (brother's =D) CD player. The mp3 player's touchpad is spoilt after i dropped it a few days ago. Sad.

Shi Yng came and she looked flustered. I didn't talk to her in the beginning. In the storeroom she was mumbling something about losing her keys, and was shuttling between the counter and the storeroom. So i left her alone and stood outside the shop, leaning against the railing and looking about. Looking at people. Then i saw one couple. The girl was wearing a red, short, bareback dress that drooped down to her just above her bottom. She was wearing some kinda white bikini. And i thought she WASN'T wearing anything on her feet. Barefooted. I saw it.

Later Shi Yng called me in and asked me if a police report could be made if her handphone was lost. I told her the police needs the 'ID' for the handphone. Apparently she doesn't even know what it is. Turns out that she had lost her handphone yesterday. She said that she brought out two handphones with her yesterday morning because her prepaid card was empty. Then Siew Foon wanted to borrow her handphone, and she handed her the spare one. She didn't think much about the other one cause she didn't touch it for the whole day. Then, just before the shop was closed, three China women were there to do some shopping. Siew Foon served one of them, and she had taken out two new pieces for that woman cause she assured SF that she wanted them. Instead they left quickly after they came out from the fitting room, with the woman glancing back at the shop. Shi Yng found them suspicious cause they had previously left the tried clothes in the bin after trying, but for the last time, before they left, they had placed them on the spare rack near the storeroom and left hastily. They didn't even say anything or apologise about not wanting the clothes anymore or stuff. Later, only after they closed shop, did Shi Yng find out that her mobile phone was missing. She even went back to the shop to search for it. SHe went back home and searched the house topsy-turvy. But she didn't find it.

Shi Yng suspected that the China women stole her handphone when she was vacuum-ing the floor and while Siew Foon was putting the 'metal'. Makes sense. Cause there wasn't anyone at the storeroom then, and those women were at the closest proximity. And why did they act so strangely?

So SY spent the rest of the morning cursing the women for taking away their hard-earned money and venting out smoke while i listened on. She said the hp was a birthday gift from her boyfriend. I think it was a Nokia 5300 or something like that. It's a Walkman phone lookalike, white colour with orange trimmings. She complained to Pooi Fong about not being in the mood to work, but PF said she shouldn't take her emotions to work and told her to stop giving excuses...

Luckily i wasn't working yesterday. Cause my bag would be hung right beside Shi Yng's. Luckily SF asked for her handphone. Or both would be stolen.

Siew Foon came at 12.30pm today. Shi Yng was obvously very distressed. After things cooled down a lil' bit i told Shi Yng that i had to take Wednesday off. Take medical report and send in the documents. Last day. Yeah. So she agreed. She called her boyfriend and joked that he'll scold me when he comes to pick her after work. I replied,"What? Want to fight ah?" Hahaha.

We laughed like mad for the whole day. And oh yes, I finished reading my storybook today. Artemis Fowl, fourth book. Actually there're only a few pages left cause i've read the bulk before working at Dano and during the past two days. The book's great, although it's a lil complicated. It's not a great problem for me, though. ~_~"

I went out with SF during breaktime to get KFC takeaway using her ill-gotten discount coupons. I told her to get back first cause i wanted to but cheapskate pants. The temporary set-up booth was near Q bread, the bakery. The clothes there resemble those sold at the Metro sales. Nevertheless, hahaha... cheap what... I got a pair of camouflage shorts at $10 and navy blue bermudas at $8.

Then i went back to the shop. Siew haven't start eating cause my original chicken and her crispy ones look the same. Hahaha. So we had out lunch-cum-dinner, and continued to laugh and play jokes on one another for the rest of the day.

Oh yes. After i had just finished my meal and stepped out from the storeroom, Shi Yng called me to the phone. Male. At first i thought it was Jason. But the guy's mannerisms told me they weren't, and i already had a foreboding who it was before picking up the phone. Nevertheless i answered.
Me: Hello?
Male: Hello?
Me: Who are you?
Male: I'm Shi Yng's boyfriend.
Me: Oh...
Male: Er, when is your off day next week?
Me: Wednesday.
Male: Can you change your off day to Tuesday instead?
Me: I have stuff to do on Wednesday. (giggly)
Male: I also have stuff to do on Wednesday.
I said "Wait" and asked SY to the phone. SY explained that I have to take Wed off cause of the medical report and mailing stuff.

Hahaha. Her boyfriend was asking Shi Yng why her friend(me) is so shy. Shi Yng replied,"Aiya, she's a girl. You expect her to say 'Yo, what's up man' ah?" Hahaha, crazy. Actually i was embarassed cause Wednesday is like the off day reserved for SY. Her boy's off on every Wed too. So it's like a weekly day for themselves. But i have to spoil it. From Shi Yng, I got to know that her bf's sister is bringing them to Downtown East this Wed. So that explains why her bf is so persistent. But SY said i'm doing her a favour cause she don't wanna be in swimming costume. Heeheehee.

At night, SY's bf came at 9.30pm to pick her up(she's knocking off half an hr earlier today). Her boyfriend came in(he usually doesn't come in), to the counter, and i was like, so damn guilty. I turned around to face him, scared-ed. It was worse then being caught by the Discipline master. He said "Hello" and i smiled weakly,"I have things to do on Wednesday". HAHAHA. Luckily he didn't say anything else or pester me to change the off day. Phew. Thank god, goodness, and goddess. He sort of complied and went out again. That Siew Foon kaypoh, told him that i wanna fight with him. Wah lao eh.

Shi Yng came back at 9.30pm to collet the keys(we're still only left with one key.) She brought along some kinda cheese sausages. I didn't eat them. I don't like the shape of hotdogs and sausages. Hahaha.

The bus was damn crowded today. I missed one bus cause of the damn traffic light, and i thought there would perhaps be lesser people in thenext bus. After fumbling with the alomost-breaking-down and centuries-old CD player, the bus finally came. And damn it was damn crowded. No single place to sit at all! It was so damn cramped. When people came in at the next few stops, everyone had no personal space at all. One woman was shouting,"Please move inside!" I thought things would get better by the first stop at Sengkang. But no. The bus was still packed. Normally everone would be seated by then.

Woah. This is by far the cramp-est and sweat-iest and squeez-iest ride i've ever taken. =)

Long day tomorrow.

Oh yes. How could i forget.
20 more days.

Essentials

Yay! Off day. Ok so now Friday is my fave day. Haha.

Today i went out with Michelle. We took the train to Raffles Place and went to this Ocean building for out medical checkup. It was high-class, man. Haha. Some kinda office tower.

I thought we were early(we met at 9.30am), but there were already tons of people there. Mostly students. We went to the reception and the nurse told us to come back at 2pm, cause the most they could take was thirty students. Sad. Haha. We wanna get this done asap. We saw people from NCHS. Haha.

So we went off and went to Somerset. There's another branch of this Genith-Jones clinic there. At Orchard building, 8th floor. Again they told us to come back at two. So we went to walk around in Cineleisure(the shops weren't even opened yet! It was 11am!) and then to Heeren. Went to Esprit and Mich wanted to buy this top. Forgot the price. I think it was around $26.90. But she wanted to buy it later. We then walked around in Levi's. So so so so exp! haha. It's Mich's interest to buy branded goods now. HAHAHA.

I went to look for Avril's Under My Skin, the original version. But no, they only had the Jap version. And mind you, it was $53. Daylight robbery! Haha. But it had the songs i don't have presently. Nice songs. In the end i ended up buying "Maximum Avril Lavigne", the unauthorised biography of Avril Lavigne.

We went up to the highest floor to start our shopping. Meanwhile, at the 2nd/3rd floor, we saw Shi Yan near the escalator. He was with Ming Xuan and Guo Hong, who were in a shop looking at bears. Seems like a lot of people are going to TP. But mostly business courses. Phew. Haha.

I bought a tie(again) at 77th street. I used M's VIP card. No discount leh. They only add credits into the card. It's a checkered one, like those kinda Scottish red-black-green design. Love its design. Haha. Then we went to take neoprints.$10. The photos came out well. Most of the time they do. Hees.

After that we went to walk around before heading back to the clinic. It was around 1.35pm then.

There wasn't as much people as before in the morning. So we did the registration and waited for the clock to strike 2pm. Meanwhile we looked around for handsome guys and ugly girls. Haha. There was one girl who was wearing a panda t-shirt and a flowery-billowy skirt with those kinda slip-in auntie shoes. She was there with her mother and looked so childish. And yet, like what Mich said, she had her hair dyed. But not nice. At least it isn't up to standard compared to mine.(HAHAHA.)

Then the doctors came(from nowhere) and the nurse called us in. I think they didn't call us in order, cause Michelle submitted her form before I did. I thought i was the first one, cause no one was before me. The nurse took my height and weight and checked my eyesight. I just anyhow-ed through. When i was about to stand on the machine, I put my bag on the floor. Before i even completed the action of placing my bag on the floor, the girly panda girl suddenly offered her help to help me take it. I said "It's Ok. I'll just put it on the floor" Sorry, but i don't need your help. Then we were given plastic cups(H-U-H?) and told to pee(hahas) at the handicapped room.

The 'collection of urine' went smoothly, but the guys at the clinic are so stupid. Why can't they build a toilet in there? We(I) had to walk from Room 4(Height & Weight) into the waiting area, out of the clinic, go to the toilet, pee into the semi-transparent cup, walk back all the way into the clinic, go into Room 5, and place the cup down. And all the while BEING STARED BY PEOPLE. Hahaha. What a joke. I thought I held the cup too high. Haha. I placed down the cup and came in second! Hurray! Wahaha.

Meanwhile I went to wait again. After a few minutes Michelle was called in. Somehow i didn't see her and and only noticed her when she came back from Room 5. And so we waited. I was given the blue form we had filled in earlier and there was '100' written on it. Queue no., i guess.

Later the red words '100' flashed on the board and i went in to Consulation Room 1. Male doctor. He showed me a booklet to see if i am colour blind. Then he asked some questions. I was told to lie down on the bed and got knocked on the stomach. Anyhow-ed through too. "I've forgotten", "Don't know" etc. Haha. The doctor then gave me a pink form, together with my medical report, to be brought for the X-ray. I went to the reception and was told to go up to the 10th floor for the X-ray. They took away the medical report and asked me to come back on Wednesday to collect. So troublesome.

By then Mich was not called yet. So i went up. It took only a short wait before i went for the x-ray. They said i could leave after that. So i went down again. Mich was still there, waiting. So we awaited. And finally she was called in. Quite a long time. Longer then mine.

While waiting outside the clinic, i was glancing here and there when i heard the nurse called out "Cheng Ee Shan". Oops. Primary school classmate. Ok. Just to be sure... Ok. Confirmed her identity. Yeah it was her. Luckily she didn't recognise me. By the way she had a sticker on her butt. Hahaha.

Went up again... Waited... Ok. Done. Finally. 3.40pm already.

We went back to Heeren again.(Gotta check out Queen's Couture and buy M's shirt.) Nothing much at Queen's. And guess what! We met Shiyi and gang. Argh. Shit. Yeah. Many peeps are going to TP! Only me doing design so far. Walked around again. She bought the shirt and i bought a cap. Green with a skull in front.

Then we decided to go to Far East Plaza. It was starting to rain. After reaching FEP and a lil' soaked, we went to the basement and walked around. Nothing much. So we walked back to Wisma Atrium. Nothing much. And we went to Takashimaya. Boring. Then we went back to the Orchard MRT station.

6.30pm. We reached CP. Bought bubble tea and took LRT(cos it was raining heavily). Got off at Renjong station. And walked to NCHS. Chiong-ed into the school to avoid gettting wet. The campfire hadn't even started.(NPCC ALTC) And they siad &pm they will start. So we sat around and chatted amongst ourselves. Then we went to sit at the 'Seniors' benches'. Haha. Wah. Watied so long. It only started at 9++pm when Mr Tien F-I-N-A-L-LY arrived. Yes. Let's get this started.

They did the same thing again and again, year after year. So BORING. We left at around 9/45pm. Michelle was tired, and i couldn't take it anymore.

Ahhh. Home sweet home. Going to work at 11am tomorrow to make up for the half hour of work.

Bored.

Yay! I got my Hawthorn balls! =>

21 days to freedom. Three. More. Weeks.

Drudgery

Boring day at work.

During break-time i went out for a walk near the bus interchange. It was raining. Cool. Yes.

When i was crossing the tiny road back to TM, I saw Sheryl. The ace student with a guy. How could it be? They were obviously from different JCs cause they were wearing diff coloured unifroms. Hmm. She didn't see me, though. Luckily.=)

Ok. End of blog.

22 days towards freedom.

Charity

Went to work at 12.30pm today.

Nothing much happened.

During break time i went to a coffeeshop along the line of shops at the bus interchange. I guess i was the only young person there. It's like a place for construction workers. There's this friendly Malay woman there who cleared up the plates and asked the customers if they would like drinks. I had mixed vegetable rice at $2. The stall auntie was stingy. But It's CHEAP. Haha. ECONOMICAL. AFFORDABLE.

Later in the afternoon this lady named Arlene came. She had bought a flowery blouse on 8 Feb, but the colour had ran. She wanted to do an exchange a few days after her purchase, but somehow it dragged till now. She wanted to exchange two other t-shirts for the blouse. I called Suet Ling. The discounts and sales are all different now. Somehow the customer would get a 30% discount for all the items she wanted to exchange. After trying them on again(she had them reserved for ages!), she diecided on only one piece. It was below the price of the blouse. So I called Suet Ling again. She said the exchange item must have an equuilavent or higher price than the blouse. So i told the lady that and she said she wanted to add in a $16 bag to the exchange list. I said no, because the bag is a value item, so there would be no discount. She said she had the member's card. But no, I said. So i called Harbourfront again. Suet Ling said that there aren't any discount for bags for exchange. So in the end the lady paid a difference of $11.10. She purposely said that there wasn't a choice(referring to purchasing the bag). Ok lah, bye. She took her VIP card and went off.

Luckily Gladys didn't come today.

At 7++pm i called Jason to ask him if i could change my off day from tomorrow to Friday. He said that it shouldn't be a problem. Yay! He didn't even ask for the reason. So i continued to tell him that two people had came to apply for the job today. I had told them to write down their particulars. Jason said to put the papers in the file to be sent back to the office.

I called Michelle for a chat. Haha. Talked about poly stuff while slacking in the storeroom.

Later I went to make a custom-made envelope using the stray pieces of paper at the counter. I copied down the job applicants' particulars to another piece of paper, complete with "Name:", "Age:" and stuff. Then i folded it into the envelope and wrote:
"Attn:Jason
Job Applications",
wrote "TM" at the bottom and drew a smiley beside it. Siew Foon went to add on the eyebrows and bugs teeth.
It's not a love lettter, Jason. Don't get a shock.

We're almost done with the packing. There're only the jackets left. Tomorrow.

On the bus home, I watched the Ren Ci Charity Show. This venerable and famous monk was doing a stunt of jumping up and down to lever himself up the ropes anchored to a building. Later when i reached home they were saying stuff about the monk apologising. So i guess he gave up the stunt.

I've just read finish everything in the TP package. Yesterday/This morning i slept at 4am in the morning reading all those stuff. Many things to do. It's complicated.

Bible

I woke up late today. But I thought I would reach the shop on time, anyway. I prepared a bottle of Milo and rushed off to work.

When I waited for the bus i already know i'm in the danger zone, ie. i may be late. Haha. I quickly got up the bus, quickly looked at my watch for umpteen times, quickly got off the bus, quickly dashed across the road, into the mall, up the escalators, quickly turned the key in the knob, quickly pushed up the shutters, quickly ran to the counter and switched on the computer, quickly pressed the keys and clocked in. AND...

Ah, yes, I was late. Late by one minute. What a waste. I wouldn't be late if the shop was on the first floor. Yeah. IF it was. Argh. I hope they don't deduct my pay.

Xiu Fen came back to TM Dano again. She was previously working here but had been transferred to AMK. Shi Yng was on MC today.

Hui Yan called again. She was telling me something about getting the receipts sent to the office by tomorrow. I couldn't hear her and kept asking her to repeat herself. She then scolded,"Why can't you hear what i'm saying?" I had the temptation to tell her there was some problem with my ear. Well, I resisted it lest i start to laugh. HAHAHAHAHAHA. So before she could say anything further, I told her to wait and went to turn down the volume. Ok. So i heard her instructions but don't exactly understand what crap she was crapping.

One customer bought two sets of 2 for $30 knitwear and asked me to pack them separately in transparent bags. Another customer was looking on and waiting. Poor you. Haha.

Another customer tried on loads of clothes but decided on this white blouse. I recommended her the pink, whisch was quite sweeet. She asked me if i had XXl for pink. Not in my storeroom. I called several outlets to check, but there wasn't any results. So i called the office and they said there wasn't any more stock of this pink XXL anymore, storewide, island-wide, world-wide. Had I known i wouldn't have shown her the pink one. She left without purchasing anything.

Calvin, Vida designer cum HQ Merchandising Department personnel, called and asked me to transfer out some stock. Tomorrow, maybe, when I've finished packing the goods in the storeroom. Now we can't even see the article numbers; just guess and see the pattern when taking out new stock.

Then came this over-enthu customer. She was here with her husband last night, but went off when they smell smoke. But today she mentioned something about catching a movie. So i served her, cause Fizah is no longer working at Dano. She's so jumpy-not nervous kinda jumpy, but jumpy kinda jumpy-and excited, occasionally smacking my arm like a good ol' buddy. Eew. Haha. And she seems to have a tendecy to lift up her blouse(
guys, don't drool) to show off her tummy(which isn't really flat or toned). Maybe she was just looking at how the pants fits, I don't know. She tried on a pair of trousers, small size, which fits, but got the medium size which is loose and space-y. Whatever, as long as you feel comfortable(and buy something).

She was choosing betwwen a few jackets and asked for my comments. I told her,"I think this one is sufficient (pointing to the one that is cheaper) and you prefer this one to the others to right?" She agreed, and told me this is what she calls a 'good salesperson'. Haha. Yes I am. I don't care about sales. They won't increase our pay anyway.

In the end her bill amounted to $132.50. Great, but she left me with a whole lot of clothes to pack back. She wanted to exchange for hundred-dollar notes with her fifty-dollar notes. Wow. Rich woman/rich guy's woman. Hahaha.

By then the table was messy like... hell....

I went for my break at 3.10pm. Went to Long John Silvers. Had a Combo 1. Then i walked around and saw a mini crowd at the Oepn Plaza. I went in to take a look. There was some kinda NBA tournament going on there. Small-scale. There were, like, 15 spectators?

Then i went to walk around at 77th Street and Ice Lemon Tee.

Went back to the shop agian and continued to pack, pack, and pack.

My effort finally paid off. The blouse on the mannequin is finally selling. (And it has also brought on the sale of another polka-dot article!) No much effort, really. Haha.

An Indian lady wanted to exchange an item for its colour. Called Jason. Anything, just call him. He can settle everything, anything. I like to call him and disturb. HAHAHA.

Someone from the HQ called and told me about the 'letter' discount.

Around 6.30pm Gladys suddenly appeared at the counter. So she was the one who called and told me about the discounts.

Then she was telling me not to pack goods right now, during weeekends, cause now is the time to do sales. She asked me if it was very important for me to pack. I didn't really think so. So i went back to the storeroomto put anything back. Meanwhile the DVD player went nuts(maybe i had accidentally loosen the plug) and off-ed by itself. Gladys came in and told me "No Chinese songs". Maybe she thought i was changing the discs when i was not. Well i thought of doing that AFTER the songs stopped playing, but not before that. Haha. Don't play lor.

There were a lot of plastic bags full of clothes behind the counter. Gladys was asking me what to do with them . I didn't know, because nobody told me. So I called Shi Yng. She didn't answer. So G called HQ people who came to stock take yesterday. Some were supposed to be transferred out. SY returned the call. So it turns out, after a few missed calls and received calls, that the blue knitwear are to be transferred out while the rest are those without price tags. Xiu Fen had hung some at the back of the shop.

Gladys has a LG chocolate phone. But it's oily. Hahaha.

She said i very jiat lat. Don't know no nothing. Hahaha. I'm innocent! Heeheehee.

She asked me which goods were good-selling. I told her the $16 bags were. Hahaha. What has that got to do with apparel? Hahaha.

Then she found one camisole-lookalike t-shirt which she claims has a wrong cutting.

After an hour she went off. Yay. Freed, at last.

OH! Who knows. I was slacking in the storeroom reading smses when Xiu Fen came in, looking like she was getting new stock, and mouthed something. Gladys appeared behind her, next, saying ther's no more music. Oh S-H-I-T. She had came back with her friend to try on the t-shirt that supposedly had a wrong cutting. So i acted busy, pressed played on the remote control, and went out to serve customers again. G smiled slyly at me once. Chilly....They left a short while later. Lodge a complain against me , please, and get me fired. Haha. That's not gonna happen. They are short of manpower. Wahaha.

At night this McD manager(red blouse) came in with another blue-shirt lady. They took a long time and finally purchased something close to when the shop is closing. Guess they start work at 10pm today.

After work I wandered around before going to the bus stop. Wow it took REAL long. The bus came only at 10.50pm. I waited, like, 15 minutes. =)

I sat down beside a woman who had boarded the bus at the same stop. Then one guy Victor came up at the next stop. She was calling out to him and they started to chat with me in between. The woman was preaching about God, service, church, life, blah blah blah. "God is in control in us", "Why walk around following behind people's backs and walk with them? You should go to church. It's very fulfilling. Don't waste your time", "
God is in control in us", "God is in control in us". Missionary? I guess that Victor guy has just converted to Christianity.

Woah. What a day.

And what a long entry.

Twenty-eight days to free-dom.

Oh. Twenty-seven i mean.

Abuse

16 March 2007

This morning, I took the bus without my eZlink. (Gave it to my mother cause she's gonna to sign up for Singtel Student's Plan.) I dropped in 50 cents and told the bus uncle i was going to TM.
"Student's fare?"
"Yes"
"It's fifty-five cents"
"I thought it's forty-five cents?"
"Yah, fifty-five cents"
I thought 'Huh?' and went to take a seat.

Arrived at TM at 9am. Stock take day.

So boring. I helped to hold up the price tags while the HQ person scanned the barcodes. Then I helped to pack the goods back when the HQ person rips up everything to scan the barcodes. I paired up with this Bao Xian person. In betwwen there was so commotion when baby cockroaches appeared from the storeroom. In total there were seven people in the shop. We ended at around 11.15am.

Fizah came in at 12.30pm. Today's Fizah's last day. She's a really hardworking worker. Shi Yng says that next time, if the company wants to recruit Malays, they should recruit only students.

Anyway, the day goes by. There was this customer who patronised our shop yesterday. She wanted to exchange an item. It was a set including a necklace, a singlet and a jacket. She couldn't fit into the singlet and she han't tried yesterday. Now she wants to exchange it for another item. She kept complaining that we should change for her; we should try to keep our customers back. She was quoting OG and Isetan for allowing her to exchange goods. I was wondering if she often does this. So I called Jason. Can't, man. It's free size and she bought it during the sales period. No way. Bye bye lah, auntie. She stomped off yelling,"Fine! I won't come back to this shop again!" What a big reaction. Just don't wear the singlet. And stop pestering us, please, cause we can't do anything. You should tell it to the big bosses.

When I was on the down-riding escalator, I saw this couple on the up-riding escalator. (The two escalators were side-by-side.) They were sMoOcHiNg and getting real passionate. WAHAHAHAHAHA. Almost everyone were looking at them.

We spent the rest of the day re-packing the goods.

Finally. After a long day at work.

When I got up the bus, I
dropped in fifty cents again. I told the bus uncle(who wasn't very old) i was going to Sengkang.
"One-forty"
"But isn't it supposed to be forty-five cents?"
"No, one-forty"
"But i'm referring to the student's fare"
"Do you have the card?"
"No, i didn't bring it"
"Card forty-five cents, cash fifty-five cents, no card one-forty"
"I'm paying by cash cause i didn't bring my card!" (I'm pissed off like mad right now.)
"But you don't have the card. So to Sengkang its one-forty"
"But i don't have any cash left!"
"You take bus you don't know?"
"I thought it was the student's fare!"
"No, cannot. It's one-forty"
"Now I don't have any cash with me!" (Actually there was ten-dollar note and a precious one-dollar ship note I exchanged with the cashier.)
"Cannot. No, cannot."
"So how?"
"No card, must give one-forty"
So i continued to "talk" to the bus uncle. Other passengers may think we were having a lil' chat. But no, I was about to shout vulgarities when we arrived at the next stop.
People started to stream in. Actually i stood there for a few seconds in the hopes of bargaining it out. But i had no choice but to move in with the crowd. Forget it. This asshole will never get it. Can't they be more flexible with the rules? What the TTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!

So i walked further and further in . Who cares. CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. I doubt the bus driver will get out of his seat to purposely come and challenge me. Don't bother to give me the ticket, cause there won't be any spot checks right now. HA. HA. HA. So I strutted to the back. It's written there clearly to "MOVE TO THE REAR". See, i'm so considerate. Yay! I've beaten the bus uncle! MUHAHAHAHA.....

End of
"Confrontation with the Bus Uncle".

Yeah, so i saved $0.10 today. It's commendable. Everything starts small, okay?

I went home and loaded the files in my handphone into my laptop. What the hell. I still have to modify the dates by myself.

Ah, well. Tired with all that stuff.

Zest

15 March 2007

Work ended at 4.30pm today.

After that i went to take the MRT to Harbourfront. Oops. The train driver saw me with my Blueberry Ice Blended.

Anyway, I reached Vivocity and bought some chocs at $5++ from Candy Empire. There was some sort of Barbie+Mac event going on at the main hall. Nice. The set-up was gorgeous. Private entry. Shucks.

I went to look for Dano. There wasn't any sign of it around there. I took a brochure of the shops listing of the mall, and there wasn't a Dano outlet there. Maybe it's at Harbourfront Centre or whatever.

Then I went to PageOne. It wasn't Avril Lavigne on the cover of the Billboard magazine. And mind you, it's $14++ for a magazine whose quality is the same as that as your TODAY newspaper. A guy there said there was Avril on the cover for this Arena magazine. But it's 'Unsuitable for the Young'. So i didn't get it. I guess it's a guy's mag.

Then i continued with my quest of finding Pull & Bear. Still couldn't find it. Forget it. If i had continued to search I would be late for my date.

So i took the MRT again to Orchard. I walked to Paragon Shopping Mall, where i met up with my elder brother. Gues what. I was buying my laptop today. We went up to the 4th floor to the Sony Gallery.

Yay! The model i wanted was there! So cool. Vaio. Haha. I've long set my mind on this one. I took a look around while my brother asked the salesperson questions about that model. I joined in here and then. Then my brother told the salesman that I need to consider it first. Huge investment, that man said. Haha.

The salesperson asked if i mind the weight. No, i didn't. The one i decided on was 2.8kg, 15.4 inches. There was another one with similar specs but it was something like 1.65kg and 13.3 inches.

After walking in circles and looking around, I decided on that one particular model. Yay! I knew i would do this. haha.

So.

$2,499. My brother paid using his debit card(get rewards mah). What the hell. I was supposed to return him the money in full sum. Haha.

The salesman then introduced us to the basic functions of the laptop. The first start-up was SUPER slow. Then he told us about the recovery, camera and stuff. We received a laptop case, the adaptor etc and a free wireless mouse. I've to charge the battery for 10 hours for the first time. Hurray!

My brother was hungry and grumbled about sacrificing his time to accompany me to buy the laptop. So I told him I would give him a treat-KFC! Haha!

So we went off to CP, bought dinner and walked home.

YAY.
